Lynn recounts: He noticed that the yogurt container he was eating from had maple leaves on it - we usually call it maple syrup yogurt. I asked "where do we get maple syrup?" Ben said "on waffles."

Bob, a friend of mine, who is a wily government lawyer, got his just desserts through fatherhood in a similar way, from his son Ilya. Ilya had gotten out of hand one day at playschool, so Ilya's mom asked Bob to speak with Ilya. Bob, ever the prosecutor, sat down with his son and asked: So, what happened in school today?
Ilya's reply: Well, Dad, it's complicated.
